Hotel & restaurant professional

High demand✓ Not regulated — recognition optional but useful

Hotels and restaurants have a chronic staffing gap, and experienced service and front-desk staff are welcome. It isn't a regulated profession, so you can work without recognition — but having your training recognised via IHK FOSA turns you into a skilled worker and improves your visa options and pay.

Who recognises it
IHK FOSA assesses hospitality training. Not required to work, but recognition helps the visa.
German level

Typical salary

How long it takes
